Rotary’s “It’s a Girl Thing” Project Supports Meriwether County Students

On August 6, the Meriwether County Rotary Club came together for a special service project—assembling “It’s a Girl Thing” bags for young women served by the Meriwether County School System Wraparound Center.

For too many young women, not having access to basic feminine hygiene products can mean missing class, feeling embarrassed, or struggling through the school day. The Meriwether County Rotary Club believes no student should have to face that challenge alone.

Club members worked together to assemble bags filled with essential feminine hygiene products for students at Manchester High School, Greenville High School, Manchester Middle School, Greenville Middle School, Unity Elementary School, and Mountain View Elementary School. These bags provide practical support while helping students maintain their confidence, dignity, and focus on their education.

This project is about more than filling bags—it is about removing barriers, preserving dignity, and helping students succeed. Every item packed represents compassion in action and a commitment to helping young women thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Thank you to all the Rotarians and community members who helped make this project possible. ??

Together, we continue to make a difference—one student, one act of kindness, and one opportunity at a time.
