Meriwether County Rotary Celebrates Excellence Through Student–Teacher Achievement Program

On February 3, the Meriwether County Rotary Club sponsored the annual Meriwether County Student–Teacher Achievement Recognition Program, held at Manchester High School. This meaningful program honors outstanding high school students alongside the teachers who have played a significant role in their academic success, leadership development, and personal growth.

The overall Meriwether County winners were Cole Riner of Flint River Academy and his teacher, Kay Barnes. Cole was recognized for his dedication to academic excellence, character, and commitment to learning, while Ms. Barnes was honored for her exceptional mentorship, encouragement, and positive impact in the classroom.

Additional student–teacher honorees included Imahni Hairston of Greenville High School and J. Harmony Porter of Manchester High School, both of whom were selected for their achievements, leadership qualities, and strong work ethic. Their teachers Dr Shemika Jones, GHS, and Valerie Ingram, MHS, were recognized for fostering a supportive learning environment and helping students reach their full potential.

Through programs like this, the Meriwether County Rotary Club continues its commitment to supporting education, recognizing achievement, and investing in the future leaders of Meriwether County. Rotary members were proud to celebrate the students and educators whose dedication strengthens our schools and our community.
