The Meriwether Co Rotary Club and the Manchester Womans Club Host Wear Red Luncheon for Heart Health
The Meriwether County Rotary Club and the Manchester Woamsn club partnered to host a Wear Red Luncheon celebrating Heart Health on Thursday, February 6, at noon at First Baptist Church of Warm Springs.
A total of 48 community members attended the event, wearing red to promote awareness of heart disease prevention and the importance of cardiovascular wellness. The luncheon focused on education, encouragement, and community support for heart-healthy living.
Featured speaker George Bailey , a Manchester High School graduate and heart transplant recipient , shared his powerful personal journey. Described as a mover, shaker, and risk-taker, Bailey spoke about perseverance through life-changing health challenges and how his experience has inspired him to use his influence to create positive change and inspire others.
His story is one of resilience, dedication, and unwavering faith — a true testament to the power of community and the impact one person can make. Bailey emphasized the importance of early detection, healthy lifestyle choices, and supporting those facing cardiac challenges, encouraging attendees to take an active role in protecting their health.
The event provided an opportunity for fellowship while reinforcing the shared mission of both organizations to improve the well-being of Meriwether County residents through education, service, and outreach.
“Every day is a gift,” Bailey shared. “Take care of your heart, lean on your community, and never underestimate the difference one life can make.”
